Sunderland City Council is seeking to recruit a Communications and Corporate Affairs Officer to coordinate and drive forward campaigns supporting the City Council’s ambitions to become a vibrant city to live, work, and play.
This role supports the Senior Communications Officer for Content and Insight within the council’s communications team. The successful candidate will manage communications activities across various content channels, including digital and social media, to deliver integrated campaigns.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with other council teams and city partners to promote Sunderland, its developments, cultural offerings, and investment opportunities. The role involves developing, planning, evaluating, and reporting on campaigns with a focus on long-term outcomes, using data to generate insights, and presenting findings clearly to stakeholders.
The officer will lead planning and executing communications across multiple channels, working closely with the wider team to ensure alignment. The role involves managing several campaigns simultaneously and may require some out-of-hours work for event promotion.
