Position: Container Transport PlannerLocation: FelixstoweSalary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Electric Company Car (DOE)Hours: Monday to Friday (Full Time)We're working with a well-established and growing transport and logistics business in Felixstowe, who are looking to appoint an experienced Container Transport Planner to join their operations team.This is a key position within the business, suited to someone who is confident working independently, managing a high-volume fleet, and making real-time operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.The RoleYou'll be responsible for planning and coordinating container movements across the UK, ensuring maximum efficiency, service levels, and cost control.Key responsibilities include:Planning and managing the daily operations of 20+ HGV trucksCoordinating container collections and deliveries to and from portsOptimising routes to maximise efficiency and minimise empty runningLiaising with drivers, customers, and port operations teamsManaging changes, delays, and operational challenges in real timeEnsuring compliance with driver hours, transport regulations, and company proceduresMaintaining accurate planning records and system updatesDelivering high levels of customer service at all timesWhat We're Looking ForProven experience in container transport planningAbility to independently manage 20+ trucks in a busy operationStrong working knowledge of TOPS (Traffic Office Processing System)Booking and managing deliveries via VBS (Vehicle Booking Systems)Excellent organisational and problem-solving skillsConfident communicator with the ability to manage drivers and stakeholdersAbility to remain calm and make decisions under pressureStrong attention to detail and commercial awarenessWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)Electric company carStable, well-established business with strong market presenceSupportive team environmentOpportunity to play a key role in a busy and growing operationIf you're an experienced container planner looking for your next step in Felixstowe, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that values expertise and gives you the autonomy to make an impact.WR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
