The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven SENCO to lead the school’s SEND provision. This is a key leadership role, combining strategic oversight with a hands‑on, practical approach to supporting both staff and students.
You will play a vital part in ensuring every learner receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage SEND provision across the school
* Oversee EHCP processes, annual reviews, and provision mapping
* Identify student needs and implement targeted interventions
* Support and mentor staff to deliver inclusive, high-quality teaching
* Work closely with parents/carers, local authorities, and external agencies
* Ensure compliance with SEND Code of Practice and statutory requirements
* Provide classroom support and cover where required
About You
* Holds (or is working towards) the NASENCO qualification
* Strong experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, and complex needs
* Ability to lead SEND strategy and contribute to whole‑school improvement
* Confident supporting staff and promoting best practice
* Resilient, adaptable, and calm under pressure
* Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
* Willing to take a hands‑on role within the classroom when needed
