Purpose of the role: This is a key on‑air role that also provides an entry point into the wider BBC Hereford and Worcester Local Story Team, which produces stories across radio, online and TV in the region. As the weekend newsreader you will prepare and read bulletins, chase breaking stories, and advise News Online and Midlands Today on important developments.
Essential Criteria
* Experience of reading live bulletins with a good broadcasting voice.
* Editorial skills – understanding the priorities and pitfalls of story selection.
Desired But Not Required
* Social media experience – a working knowledge of platforms and how they best reach audiences.
* Video/audio – an understanding of production and editing.
* Creativity – the ability to generate great story ideas for local radio and digital space.
