Quality Engineering Inspector
Join a well-established engineering company in the offshore oil & gas sector, supporting the delivery of high-quality mechanical equipment. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Quality Engineer/Inspector to strengthen our QA team. You will collaborate closely with production and project engineering teams to ensure inspections and documentation meet tight production schedules. Your expertise will also support non-conformance investigations, ISO9001 audits, and the development of working instructions.
We are looking for a methodical, detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a passion for quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Measure and inspect parts against engineering drawings using tools such as micrometers, verniers, gauges, and bore/depth instruments.

Perform inspections at goods inwards, pre-paint, and final stages.
*
Complete dimensional reports, inspection documentation, and sign-offs.
*
Stamp parts and tap threaded holes as required.
*
Review customer drawings and specifications for compliance.
*
Issue inspection notifications and coordinate with third-party inspectors.
*
Investigate non-conformances (NCRs), identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
*
Ensure adherence to company and customer quality procedures, suggesting improvements where needed.
*
Work with document control to maintain accurate inspection packs.
*
Conduct ISO9001 audits.
*
Assist in assembly and packing of parts when required.
*
Meet project deadlines efficiently and accurately.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
*
GCSE Maths & English.
*
HND or minimum 3–5 years relevant industry experience.
*
ISO9001 auditor qualification.
*
Strong IT skills; proficient in MS Office applications.
*
Minimum 3 years in quality engineering and 2 years in inspection roles.
*
Experience with quality management systems, NCRs, and engineering measurement tools.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*
Experience liaising with customers and suppliers.

39-hour week

Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:30

Friday: 08:00–15:30
