The following wards has vacancy for clinical charge nurses:
Eden Ward (PICU) is a 10 male bedded Pychiatric Intensive Care Unit
Nelson Ward is an 18 female bedded ward
We are looking for dynamic and enthusiastic candidates, with a commitment to delivering high standards of care.
Main duties of the job
As a Clinical Charge Nurse you will promote and develop clinical leadership and clinical practice and be a positive role model to junior members of the team through the practice of evidence-based care.
You will be expected to support professional development through clinical
appraisal and supervision and contribute to the ongoing educational
Programme for staff, fostering a positive learning environment. Your
professional and personal development will include further study, and you will be encouraged and supported by your line manager to undertake
these further development.
As a senior nurse working within the South London and the Maudsley's NHS Foundation Trust you are required to encourage and foster collaborative and organisational working.

Essential criteria
13. Registered Nurse (Mental Health/Learning Disability).
14. Evidence of continuing professional development
15. Degree or equivalent experience
16. 2 years working as RMN/RMLD
17. SLTP training
Desirable criteria
18. RGN.
19. Management course
Experience
Essential criteria
20. Experience of managing clinical practice at Band 5
21. Experience of implementing and monitoring standards of care
22. Experience of providing clinical and managerial supervision
23. Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice
24. Experience of recruitment and selection of staff
Desirable criteria
25. Experience of managing non-clinical staff and other professionals
26. Experience of staff performance management
27. Experience of implementing significant changes in working practices
Knowledge
Essential criteria
28. Specialist clinical knowledge relevant to the service, including evidence-based practice
29. Knowledge of Managing patient flow and leading on patient flow initiatives
30. Working knowledge of all relevant legislation associated with acute mental health care, including MHA, CPA procedures, Human Rights Act, NSF, Child Protection and NHS Plan
31. Understanding of the role and function of other organisations providing services to people with mental ill-health
