TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well‑established and growing accountancy practice in Guildford that is looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take on a varied and senior role, managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts while supporting the development of junior staff and working closely with Partners. The firm offers a collaborative and professional environment, with strong client relationships and a diverse portfolio.
The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will take responsibility for managing client engagements, ensuring high‑quality delivery across both audit and accounts assignments.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts
* Leading statutory audits from planning through to completion
* Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of clients
* Conducting risk assessments and overseeing audit testing
* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members, ensuring accuracy and compliance
* Preparing and presenting management letters and audit findings to clients
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor
* Supporting and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and technical support
* Managing workflow, deadlines and ensuring work is delivered efficiently
* Assisting Partners with client development and advisory projects
* Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting and auditing standards
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Strong experience within audit and accounts in a UK accountancy practice
* Proven experience managing client portfolios and leading audit assignments
* Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and auditing standards
* Experience reviewing and supervising junior staff
* Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
* A proactive and commercially aware approach
