We are recruiting for an established training provider who deliver construction training programmes for young people, apprentices, and adult learners. Due to continued growth they are looking for an Estates, Facilities, & Health & safety Manager to oversee the management, maintenance and safety of their training centres.
We are looking for someone with a practical background in construction, site supervision or facilities management, with a strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within working environments.
You will be organised, proactive and comfortable managing a wide range of facilities and compliance responsibilities.
The Role
* This is a hands‑on‑role responsible for ensuring their facilities, workshops and training environments remain safe, compliant and well maintained.
* You will oversee the day‑to‑day management of their centres, ensuring buildings, equipment and learning environments meet health and safety standards and provide a safe and professional environment for learners and staff.
* The role will involve working within an environment with young people and vulnerable learners, therefore you must know the importance of maintaining safe, secure, and supportive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day‑to‑day management and maintenance of all SCC facilities
* Ensure buildings, workshops and training environments are safe, compliant and well maintained
* Carry out and maintain site risk assessments and safety inspections
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
* Maintain records for compliance checks, inspections and maintenance schedules
* Coordinate external contractors for servicing, repairs and inspections
* Ensure workshop tools and equipment are maintained and safe for use
* Support tutors in maintaining safe working environments for learners
* Oversee site improvement and maintenance projects carried out by apprentices
* Monitor fire safety systems, emergency lighting, PAT testing and general safety compliance
* Investigate and respond to health and safety incidents where requiredSupport the leadership team in maintaining safe and effective learning environments
Essential Requirements
* Experience managing facilities, estates or building maintenance
* Experience carrying out risk assessments and health & safety inspections
* Experience overseeing building repairs, maintenance or improvement works
* Experience coordinating contractors and service providers
* Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
* Ability to manage compliance records and inspection schedules
* Full UK driving licence
