Base pay range

Occupational Therapist - £19.94 per hour

Location: Maes Y Dderwen, Charles Street, Tredegar, Gwent NP22 4AE

Responsibilities

* Manage a caseload of patients with complex needs, using evidence-based and person-centred approaches to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment with minimal supervision.
* Supervise junior staff professionally.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of the local OT service.


Practice Expectations

* Maintain professional competence and support team development.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments covering self-care, productivity, and leisure.
* Utilize standardised and non-standardised assessment tools.
* Develop treatment plans with graded activities.
* Communicate respectfully, respecting patients’ views, autonomy, and culture.
* Implement individual and group treatments to meet therapeutic goals.
* Participate in risk assessment and management within your clinical area.
* Evaluate and adapt interventions using appropriate outcome measures.
* Practice in accordance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
* Collaborate on treatment plans and risk assessments with multidisciplinary teams.
* Complete clinical documentation according to policies and standards.
* Attend clinical reviews, team meetings, and contribute reports as required.
* Support the development of professional documentation in collaboration with management.
* Engage in teaching and training of staff, students, and multidisciplinary groups.
* Maintain professional portfolios aligned with HPC and COT standards.
* Promote positive public relations with stakeholders and the community.
* Stay informed about new initiatives and guidelines from relevant professional bodies.

Salary: £19.94 per hour

Working Hours: 37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00
