Overview
Hours: 37 hours per week. This role is office-based; however, some agile or remote working may be possible – please contact to discuss.
We are seeking enthusiastic, capable and experienced surveyors with strong technical surveying skills and preferably, but not essentially, public sector experience. Fully qualified Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) or advanced and experienced candidates working toward their chartered membership is desirable. The diverse portfolio allows opportunities to align the workload to suit your expertise, professional interests and professional development. Responsibilities
Support existing planned and responsive maintenance regimes across the corporate estate. Opportunities to design, procure and project manage works from minor repairs to larger capital refurbishment projects. Conduct surveys within the estate for purposes including condition surveys, issue diagnosis and compliance (e.g., fire safety and asbestos management). One role will have a particular focus within these areas.
Portfolio and Context
The Isle of Wight Council’s property estate comprises around 783 building assets, including corporate operational buildings such as offices, schools, leisure centres, libraries, museums, care homes, family centres, storage units, cemeteries, heritage buildings/landmarks and commercially let units (industrial, restaurants, cafés, etc.).
Qualifications
• Strong technical surveying skills
• MRICS qualification preferred or working toward chartered membership
• Experience in public sector environment is desirable but not essential
