About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support our partner’s manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the assembly and inspection of high-precision scientific components in a technically advanced environment. You’ll be working alongside skilled engineers and technicians to ensure consistent quality and smooth production flow.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the assembly of precision components such as UHV viewports and X-ray parts, following technical drawings and specifications.
* Support routine inspection and testing processes to ensure products meet strict quality standards.
* Prepare parts and materials for processing, including cleaning and basic machine setup.
* Maintain accurate records of production activities, inspection results, and materials used.
* Monitor equipment and report any technical issues or deviations in the production process.
* Help implement and maintain cleanroom procedures and health & safety protocols.
* Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to ensure timely completion of orders.
* Take part in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
* A keen interest in manufacturing, engineering, or production environments.
* Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
* Methodical and organised approach to tasks.
* Ability to follow technical instructions and work within standardised procedures.
* Team player with good communication skills.
* Previous hands-on experience (e.g. workshop, lab, or manufacturing environment) is beneficial but not essential.
* A relevant qualification (e.g. BTEC, HNC/HND, or degree) in engineering, manufacturing, or science is desirable but not required for the right candidate.
Compensation and Benefits:
* £23,000–£24,000 salary.
