About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Sociology Teacher to join a fantastic secondary school in the Liverpool area starting in April 2026. As one of the fastest growing agencies in the UK, we are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic educator. A successful applicant will have a teaching qualification with QTS.
Sociology Teacher
Location: Liverpool, L5
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Type: Temporary, 2 months
Working Hours: Full time, 8:00am - 4.00pm
Pay: Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities:
* Contribute to developing new teaching strategies and updating schemes of work to align with examination board specifications.
* Create and deliver high-quality sociology lessons that encourage curiosity, analytical skills, and understanding of sociological theories and methods.
* Establish an inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, and the application of sociology to real-world scenarios.
* Be aware of pupils' capabilities and their prior knowledge of the subject, and adapt teaching around this.
* Differentiate teaching methods for students' individual needs.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with related degree
* Proven experience teaching in a UK secondary school.
* Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
* Right to Work in the UK.
* Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
* Ability to provide two professional references/cover the last 2 years.
