Social Worker – Children In Care – Birmingham – £30.57 per hour – Hourly Pay – Ongoing Contract
Join our dynamic team in Birmingham as a Social Worker within the Children In Care team with an hourly rate of £30.57. This part-time position involves working 18.5 hours a week, offering a flexible schedule with a half day plus every Thursday and Friday, with hybrid working and office days on Tuesdays and Fridays. We’re looking for someone to support less experienced staff and manage half a caseload of complex cases. Experience in court work and care proceedings is essential, and the role will require travel to visit children placed outside of Birmingham. Duty cover is required two days per month from our office based at Lifford House in South Birmingham.
What you will do
* Support and provide guidance to less experienced staff in managing cases.
* Carry half a caseload of complex child cases, ensuring thorough assessments and care plans.
* Undertake court work including care proceedings and adoption cases.
* Travel to visit children placed outside of Birmingham to ensure their well-being.
* Cover duty responsibilities for the team two days each month, office-based.
* Engage and collaborate with colleagues, families, and other professionals to advocate for children’s needs.
Requirements
* Degree or equivalent in social work and current registration with Social Work England.
* Significant frontline experience within UK Social Services as a qualified Social Worker.
* Proven experience in care proceedings, including court and adoption work.
* Willing to travel to support children placed outside of the Birmingham area.
