Head of Sales – Open Banking Payments (PIS / AIS)

A profitable, well-funded open banking payments provider is seeking a Head of Sales to lead commercial growth across PIS and AIS solutions. This is a hands-on 'hunter' role, focused on winning new merchants across travel, eCommerce, wealth management, crowd-funding, marketplaces, and other low-risk sectors. As the business scales, you will also build a London-based team of BDMs and shape the wider sales strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Acquire new merchants across travel, eCommerce, wealth management, crowd-funding and marketplaces.
* Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiation and onboarding.
* Build and lead a London sales team as growth accelerates.
* Develop the commercial roadmap for PIS and AIS adoption.
* Work closely with product and leadership on market insights and positioning.
* Deliver accurate pipeline, forecasting and reporting.
Requirements
* 4+ years’ payments sales experience (open banking, A2A, PSPs, acquirers, or similar).
* Strong network and portfolio of contacts, ideally in travel or general eCommerce.
* Some people management experience would be preferred.
* Proven ability to close mid–large enterprise merchants in low-risk sectors.
* Hunter mentality with experience in high-growth or scale-up environments.
* Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
