Close Protection Officer – Mitie Protective Services (MPS)
As a Mitie CPO, you will operate within structured teams delivering high-level protective security to senior principals, government officials, and corporate leaders.
This role requires:
1. Excellent judgement and decision-making
2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
3. Ability to integrate quickly into multi-disciplinary teams
4. Professionalism, reliability, and unwavering discretion
5. High standards of personal presentation and conduct
6. Willingness to work flexible hours, sometimes at short notice
Key Responsibilities:
7. Deliver close protection in accordance with Mitie SOPs and client expectations
8. Conduct dynamic risk assessments, route planning and threat mitigation
9. Liaise professionally with principals, private offices and partner agencies
10. Maintain situational awareness and manage security incidents appropriately
11. Assist with logistical planning, recon, venue sweeps and advance work
12. Uphold Mitie values, compliance obligations and professional standards
13. Maintain accurate reporting, documentation and operational records
Essential Requirements:
14. SIA Close Protection Licence
15. Proven CP experience (government, corporate, diplomatic or media)
16. Strong understanding of the UK threat environment
17. Excellent written and verbal communication
18. Full UK driving licence
19. High standards of integrity, discipline and presentation
Desirable:
20. Medical qualifications (FPOSi/FREC3/4, or equivalent)
21. Experience on ministerial, corporate or HNW contracts
22. Willingness to undergo MITIE BS vetting and if required CTC / SC Govt vetting
