Overview
We are currently looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Information, Lead Buyer to be part of our Procurement Team based in our Head Office in Swindon, Wiltshire.
You will take responsibility for the procurement of materials, services and supporting the subcontract process by commercial teams, within a project, or section of a project.
The role also requires you to effectively manage relationships with key Supply Chain Partners and manage Categories of Materials or Services as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
You will be responsible for developing and managing the supplier base to ensure it can meet the current and future objectives of the company.
Responsibilities
* Procure materials, services and support the subcontract process by commercial teams within a project or section of a project.
* Effectively manage relationships with key Supply Chain Partners and manage Categories of Materials or Services as directed by the Supply Chain Manager.
* Develop and manage the supplier base to ensure it can meet current and future company objectives.
* Work office based 5 days per week during probation; after probation, apply to work from home 1 day per week.
* Align buying activity with project goals and demonstrate the ability to manage supplier relationships; handle multiple projects at once.
* Read drawings and understand construction needs through site experience.
* Demonstrate hands-on practical experience on an active Construction or Civil Engineering site and familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Business and Supply Management.
* Preferably Level 4 diploma with CIPS.
* At least 2 years of experience operating as a Senior Buyer while leading procurement on an active project.
* Hands-on experience on an active Construction or Civil Engineering site with understanding of site processes.
* Experience with NEC3 and NEC4 contracts.
