The Department of Materials at Oxford University is a world leader bringing a highly interdisciplinary approach to the development of materials with a particular focus on materials for a sustainable future across a range of materials systems and technologies including energy storage and conversion materials. The work of the department is underpinned by excellence in the, theory and modelling of materials, microstructural and nanoscale characterisation of materials, and the processing a production of materials.

This post has been created to primarily to fulfil a teaching and departmental support need, while also having the opportunity to contribute to original research in the area of mathematical and computational modelling of materials in the Department of Materials. The post-holder will be expected to lead a research activity within the general area of materials modelling, collaborating internally and externally with others as appropriate.

The post-holder will also provide small group (usually groups of 2-3) tutorial teaching primarily to Corpus Christi students. You will also co-supervise final year undergraduate research projects and post-graduate research projects.

The post-holder will also act as the Materials lead for the Astrophoria Foundation year, which is a one-year foundation programme for UK state school students.
