Pathway to Placement Lead Coordinator
Based in Birmingham, with hybrid working (mostly from home)
Full time, permanent
£30,000 - £35,000 per annum + Commission

Optima Electrical Training is a family-run, industry-led training provider dedicated to helping adults build successful careers in the electrical sector. We deliver high-quality vocational qualifications to learners at all stages – from complete beginners to experienced electricians seeking to upskill.
With the UK facing a skills shortage and high demand for qualified electricians, we have launched our
Pathway to Placement Programme (P2P)
to bridge the gap between training and employment. Our mission is to connect learners with real work opportunities while equipping them with the confidence, skills, and industry connections they need to thrive.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and organised
Pathway to Placement Lead Coordinator
to oversee the delivery of this exciting new programme. This pivotal role involves building strong employer partnerships, coordinating placements, and supporting learners as they transition into the workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Programme & Placement Coordination
Lead and develop the Pathway to Placement Programme, matching learners with suitable opportunities and monitoring their progress to align with career goals
Work closely with trainers, support teams, and leadership to ensure smooth integration between training and placement
Employer Engagement & Networking
Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical employers, contractors, and industry partners, promoting the benefits of partnering with Optima learners
Organise networking events, employer talks, and guest speaker sessions to connect learners with potential employers
Learner Support & Readiness
Deliver job-readiness training, CV workshops, mock interviews, and soft-skills development
Create and maintain learner profiles to highlight qualifications, experience, and site readiness
Funding, Compliance & Reporting
Identify and access bursaries, sponsorships, and employment-related funding
Maintain accurate placement and outcome records for internal tracking and reporting to stakeholders
Contribute to case studies, promotional materials, and success stories that demonstrate programme impact
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a confident communicator, skilled at building relationships, and driven by the desire to help people succeed. Experience in recruitment, employment services, or learner support is essential. About you:
Strong organisational and coordination skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to build and maintain employer partnerships
Experience in recruitment, learner support, or employment services
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Background in vocational training or further education, knowledge of the electrical or construction industry, and experience with funding programmes is
desirable
