CYP Mental Health (CYPMH) Operational Team Manager

Are you ready to take the next step in your career and help shape the future of young people's mental health? We're looking for a passionate and experienced Operational Team Manager to join Cheshire MHST.

We are looking for a Team Manager who will form part of the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) leadership team. The Team Manager will support Clinical Co‑ordinators and Clinical Leads in the day to day running of the MHST. They will oversee the management of the admin and Business Information functions and support the scale up of our evidence based programmes. Experience in Project Management is desirable and an understanding of the education sector alongside children and young people's mental health provision.

The base will be negotiated with the successful applicant and Flexible / Hybrid working will be accommodated.


Main duties of the job

* Lead day-to-day service operations, ensuring the MHST delivers timely, high-quality support to schools, children and young people
* Manage and support staff, including supervision oversight, workload planning, performance monitoring and adherence to mandatory training
* Take a lead role in the development and evaluation of projects and the overall service
* Oversee service performance, using data, outcomes and feedback to monitor effectiveness and meet national MHST benchmarking
* Ensure safe and effective clinical processes, including risk management, safeguarding coordination and adherence to governance frameworks
* Drive service development and improvement, identifying challenges, implementing solutions and supporting innovation within the team
* Work collaboratively with partners, including local authorities, 0-18 CYPMHS, senior leaders and other stakeholders to maintain integrated support
* Manage operational resources such as staffing, scheduling, reporting and supporting recruitment where required

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to degree level in a health or social care qualification
* Post‑graduate level nationally recognised course relevant to the post
* Evidence of actively consolidating professional experience through continuous professional development
* Evidence of leadership course/training
* Coaching and Mentoring
* Recognised management qualification to level 7 or equivalent management experience and training
* Masters or equivalent level qualification in health/social care


Knowledge

* To possess specialist knowledge across a range of relevant procedures underpinned by theory
* Knowledge of social and care health legislation and ability to apply knowledge appropriately
* Knowledge of the delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
* Knowledge of the recording of service users' information
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Project management and implementing change
* Knowledge of undertaking surveys or audits
* Knowledge of undertaking equipment testing and adaptation
* Experience of regularly undertaking research and development activity and clinical trials


Experience

* Substantial demonstrable experience in a mental health setting
* Experience of managing a multi‑disciplinary team or service
* Number of years experience at band 6 or equivalent showing leadership, supervision skills
* Experience of planning and organising complex activities
* Organising programmes requiring formulation and adjustment
* Experience of direct delivery of a clinical, technical or social care service
* Experience of proposing policy or service changes which impacts beyond own area
* Working with complex budgets
* Responsibility for policies and the impact on other community and voluntary services
* Experience of being an authorised signatory and holding a delegated budget
* Experience of day‑to‑day management in allocating, placing and supervising staff or students

£49,387 to £56,515 a year per annum pro rata
