Protocol Education is working with a specialist SEMH and Alternative Provision setting in South Shields seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team for the new academic year.
This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a long-term career within SEND, SEMH, or pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting students aged 11–16
* Delivering mentoring and intervention sessions
* Encouraging positive behaviour and attendance
* Supporting pupils with emotional regulation strategies
* Assisting with classroom learning and engagement
* Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Working Pattern:
* Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
* Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
* Wednesday: 8:30am – 3:45pm
* Thursday: 8:30am – 4:15pm
* Friday: 8:30am – 3:15pm
Essential Requirements:
* Experience working with young people in education, youth work, care, coaching or mentoring
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Resilient, patient and adaptable approach
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply and pay for one
