Overview
This role is an excellent opportunity to support the Financial Controller of a successful SME in a varied accounts role, working as part of a small finance team.
The Candidate
This role is ideal for an assistant accountant who has experience in an SME of circa £25m turnover, or an accounts assistant who has experience in assisting with the duties detailed below.
Duties
* Oversee accounts payable and receivable activities.
* Support in preparing budgets, forecasts, and audit requirements.
* Process payroll and other routine financial statements.
* Prepare key financial reports such as the profit and loss statement and VAT submissions.
* Provide general HR and administrative support as required.
* Maintain accurate financial records, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, revenue, and costs.
* Assist with month-end processes, including journals, reconciliations, and closing ledgers.
* Monitor cashflow and ensure regular updates.
