About the Role
As a National Specification Manager your main focus will be to manage the regional specification team and put in place strategic plans to achieve company, commercial propositions, and development product targets.
You will also be responsible for producing a regional pipeline for our distribution partners to convert, as well as ensuring strategic plans are in place to enable our team to cross sell with target customers.
This is a field based role where you will be travelling regularly across the UK & Ireland region. A company car/allowance is provided.
Duties include:
* Lead, manage, coach, and develop the Specification Team to deliver high performance and consistent specification growth.
* Develop and implement a national specification strategy
* Manage the reporting of the specification pipeline
* Work with the marketing and product management teams to deliver relevant tools, materials, and CPD content to support specification.
* Work closely with all regional Procurement sales teams to ensure Pipeline specifications are converted.
* Ownership of your own area/customers within the team to help execute specification strategies.
* Provide expertise internally on product standards, compliance, and technical performance, supporting innovation and regulatory alignment.
* Provide senior-level support for key projects, technical meetings, and client engagements, reinforcing the company’s technical credibility.
* Deliver regular reports and insights to the executive team on technical activity, pipeline performance, and market opportunities.
Hours of Work: Mon to Fri. 9am to 5pm
About You
You will be an experienced specification sales professional with experience leading a team in the specification industry.
You will have experience managing others, or you will have the transferable skills to step up into a line management role (e.g. coaching, hiring, motivating, addressing performance)
You will also have
* Ability to read and interpret 2D housing plans, elevations, and details.
* Excellent communication skills (written and numerical)
* An appreciation and understanding of relevant construction industry standards
* Able to work on own initiative and manage workload and training schedules.
* The ability to integrate with and work with the wider Technical team and other departments.
* Good numerical skills
* Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across the region
Desirable
* An excellent standard of presentation skills.
* An interest in roofing and pursuing customer experience excellence in the areas of training and on-site support.
* The ability to make logical decisions confidently
