We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position beginning in September 2025 at a well-respected and inclusive secondary academy in Wakefield. Requirements
* Relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a school or similar setting

Responsibilities
* Provide one-to-one support for students with EHCPs and identified SEN.
* Assist in developing and implementing personalised support plans.
* Support the emotional, social, and academic development of learners.
* Promote positive behaviour and implement behaviour strategies.
* Collaborate with class teachers to adapt lesson content as required.
* Monitor student progress and report concerns to the SENCO.
* Supervise students during break or lunch as needed.
* Create and maintain a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
* Use strategies like visual timetables or sensory breaks to support regulation.
* Act as a mentor or key adult for a small group of SEN students.
