An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Women’s, Children’s and Clinical Services Directorate. The post is for a Clinical Risk Midwife on a permanent contract.
We require a dedicated experienced midwife who has a passion for patient safety and quality of care. The post holder alongside a fulltime Clinical Risk Midwife will be responsible for ensuring all Datix reports are investigated and evaluated appropriately. The post holder must have the ability to chair multidisciplinary meetings, write reports and undertake audits. Excellent organisational skills are required in addition to the ability to investigate incidents in an unbiased manner.
Our unit is modern and progressive with approximately 3000 births per year. We have an inpatient service which consists of a Consultant Led Unit, Alongside Midwife Led Unit, Induction of Labour unit, Maternity Assessment and Maternity ward. Our Outpatient services include Antenatal clinics based in both Victoria Hospital and Queen Margaret Hospital. Our Community midwives are based in Victoria Hospital, Queen Margaret Hospital and St Andrews Community Hospital. In addition we have a Birth at Home team, Specialist Midwifery services which include Bereavement, Perinatal, Vulnerable in Pregnancy and Fetal Medicine. Best Start work achieved so far includes one continuity of carer team (Bethune) in addition with progressing with Transitional Care. We are currently focussing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance.

Along the coast there are the fishing villages of the East Neuk, the Fife Coastal Path can be enjoyed by recreational and serious walkers.
