Compliance Manager
* Annual Salary: £55,000-£65,000pa

Reed have partnered with a company who are seeking a Compliance Manager to join their team, to ensure the organisation meets all statutory, regulatory, and contractual compliance obligations, particularly in line with The NHS Standard Contract Particulars, Care Quality Commission (CQC) requirements, and internal governance frameworks. This role is crucial for developing and embedding effective compliance monitoring systems, providing expert advice, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement in quality, safety, and accountability.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Develop, implement, and oversee compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with The NHS Standard Contract Particulars, legislation, and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor compliance against internal and external audits, including CQC standards, NHS England regulations, and Information Governance Toolkit.
* Prepare reports and assurance papers for the management board, internal committee members, and external regulators.
* Support incident investigations under the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).
* Manage complaints in line with NHS and ISCAS Code of Practice for Complaints Management.
* Develop, implement, and maintain a suite of compliance policies and procedures aligned with the NHS and regulatory requirements. Review to ensure they remain current, effective, and reflect best practice. Provide guidance to staff on interpreting and applying policies.
* Develop training guidance and evaluate training effectiveness, adapting programmes to address gaps in knowledge or practice.
* Design and manage the internal audit programme, ensuring systematic monitoring of compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations. Conduct compliance audits and inspections, producing reports with clear findings, risks, and recommendations. Monitor and track audit action plans, ensuring timely completion and escalation of outstanding risks.
* Support external audit and inspection processes, acting as a key point of contact for regulators and auditors.
* Maintain effective working relationships with clinical and non-clinical teams, ensuring awareness and ownership of compliance responsibilities.
* Act as key liaison for external regulators, auditors, and commissioners.
* Lead on continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen governance and compliance systems.
* Ensure timely escalation of risks, breaches, and regulatory concerns to senior management.
* Foster a culture of openness, integrity, and accountability, encouraging staff to raise compliance concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards.
* Exceptional leadership and management skills with the ability to influence and guide teams.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
* Familiarity with GDPR requirements and experience working with Information Governance teams.
