Year 2 Class Teacher - Primary School

Contract Type: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (Until Summer 2026)
Pay: £140 - £250 per day (dependent on experience)
Spencer Clarke Group are working alongside a friendly and supportive primary school in Leyland who are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join their school from January 2026 until the end of the academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils at a crucial stage of their learning journey. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, encouraging pupil progress, and supporting the transition into KS2 with confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum.
Deliver effective phonics and early literacy teaching.
Monitor and track pupil progress, identifying areas for development.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with support staff and senior leaders.
Attend staff meetings, parent consultations and wider school commitments.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2.
Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and phonics programmes.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners.
