About the role

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Deputy Home Manager to join our team at MHA. This is a senior leadership role, supporting the Home Manager in the effective day-to-day running of the home and ensuring high standards of care, safety and compliance.

As Deputy Home Manager, you will lead and support care and ancillary teams, help drive continuous improvement and take full responsibility for the home in the absence of the Home Manager. Lead, manage and supervise care and ancillary staff, including inductions, supervisions, appraisals and performance management.

Work “on the floor” alongside colleagues to provide guidance, leadership and support, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

Support care planning, reviews and quality assurance processes, particularly for residents living with dementia or complex needs.

Promote residents’ dignity, choice, independence and involvement in decision-making.

Support safe and effective medicines management in line with policy and legislation.

Contribute to recruitment, training and development of staff, supporting continuous improvement and team development.

Maintain effective communication with residents, families, professionals and internal teams.

About you

We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and passionate about delivering high-quality care for older people.

You will bring:

A Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this.

Experience working in a care-related setting, with previous supervisory or management experience.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support and develop teams.

Good knowledge of care standards, safeguarding, health & safety and quality assurance.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Confidence in managing staff performance, attendance and development.

Why join MHA?

You will be joining an organisation with strong values, a supportive culture and a clear commitment to helping people live later life well. At MHA, leadership roles are about more than compliance – they are about creating warm, caring communities where residents and colleagues feel respected and supported.
