Structural Revit TechnicianLocation: West YorkshireContract: PermanentSector: Structural Engineering / BIM / Building StructuresThe OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Revit Technician to join a well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy in West Yorkshire.You will work closely with structural engineers and wider project teams to produce high-quality BIM models, technical drawings and coordinated design information across a varied portfolio of residential, commercial and development projects.This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of model and drawing packages, develop your Revit and digital engineering expertise and progress towards a Senior Technician or BIM Coordinator position.About the CompanyThe business is an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy providing specialist services across structural, civil and geo-environmental engineering .With more than 35 years' industry experience, the company has developed long-standing relationships with developers, architects, contractors and public and private-sector clients throughout the UK.The team is known for its practical, collaborative and design-led approach. support the delivery of structural engineering design solutions through the production of accurate 3D models, drawings, schedules and technical details.You will interpret engineering sketches, calculations and specifications, translating them into coordinated structural models that meet project requirements, internal BIM standards and relevant industry guidance.You will also contribute to model coordination reviews, clash detection, document control and the continued improvement of BIM standards and digital workflows.Key ResponsibilitiesRevit Modelling and Technical DeliveryDevelop and maintain coordinated 3D structural models using Autodesk RevitProduce accurate 2D drawings, schedules and construction details from BIM modelsInterpret structural calculations, sketches and specificationsModel structural elements including reinforced concrete, steelwork, foundations and building structuresEnsure models follow internal BIM standards, naming conventions and project requirementsMaintain awareness of BIM Level 2 and ISO 19650 workflowsManage revisions and model updates in line with document control proceduresCoordination and CollaborationWork closely with structural engineers and wider multidisciplinary design teamsParticipate in model coordination meetings, design workshops and clash detection reviewsLiaise with architects, contractors and external consultants where requiredCommunicate technical and coordination matters clearly to project teamsSupport engineers in resolving design, detailing and coordination issuesProject ResponsibilityTake ownership of model and drawing packages for assigned projectsDeliver technical outputs to agreed scope, programme and quality standardsTake the lead on suitable projects as experience developsAttend site visits and inspections where requiredConsider buildability, health and safety and sustainability within design outputsIdentify opportunities to improve modelling efficiency, quality and project deliveryDevelopment and MentoringSupport junior technicians and contribute to knowledge sharing across the teamContinue developing Revit, BIM and digital engineering capabilityContribute to the improvement of company modelling standards and workflowsMaintain continuous professional development in structural detailing and digital engineeringWork towards Technician Membership with the IStructE or ICEAbout YouWe are looking for a proactive and quality-focused Structural Revit Technician with strong modelling capability and experience working within a structural engineering or BIM environment.You will be organised, reliable and confident working both independently and collaboratively, with the ability to manage drawing packages and deliver accurate technical information to project deadlines.Essential RequirementsApproximately 2-5 years' experience within a structural technician or BIM roleDegree, HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant construction or engineering disciplineStrong proficiency using Autodesk Revit StructuresExperience producing structural models and drawings for steel, reinforced concrete and foundationsUnderstanding of structural engineering principles and detailing practicesFamiliarity with BIM standards and common data environmentsStrong attention to detail and document controlGood organisational and time-management skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsExperience working within multidisciplinary project teamsDesirable ExperienceKnowledge of ISO 19650 and BIM Level 2 processesAutoCAD experienceExperience using clash detection and model coordination toolsPrevious responsibility for complete model or drawing packagesExperience supporting or mentoring junior techniciansInterest in progressing towards Senior
