Responsibilities
1. Write daily online news stories
2. Produce social media posts aligned to breaking news and industry events
3. Monitor industry trends and identify key thought leaders
4. Pitch, source and write features for quarterly and bi-monthly magazines
5. Sub-edit expert-contributed articles
6. Support print planning and production (with progression to flatplanning your own titles)
7. Proofread content for clarity, tone and accuracy
8. Deputise for the Editor when required
9. Attend international conferences and trade shows when needed
What They're Looking For
This role would suit:
10. A graduate with 1-2 years' editorial experience
11. Someone currently working as an Editorial Assistant or Junior Writer
12. Candidates with B2B experience (preferred)
13. Individuals with some commercial awareness or exposure
Essential Skills
14. Experience working in a B2B environment (B2C backgrounds will not be considered)
15. Strong ability to meet deadlines, including short turnaround times
16. Excellent attention to detail
17. Strong writing and storytelling ability
18. Good communication and networking skills
19. Ability to simplify complex technical concepts
20. CMS experience (WordPress preferred)
Working Pattern
Hybrid working model:
21. During probation (first 3 months): 4 days per week in the Morden office
22. After probation: 2 days per week in the office (Mon-Tues)
Interview Process
23. Initial recruiter call
24. Teams interview with the Group Managing Editor
25. Short editorial task
26. Final in-person interview with the Group Managing Editor and Managing Director
