Job Title: Design & Development Engineer
Reports to: Design Manager
Location: Telford
Hours: 08:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Role
The role of the Design & Development Engineer is to provide assistance in the design and development of new and existing products and to facilitate with technical literature and services to support the growth of the business. He, she has the responsibility to ensure agreed objectives are achieved, whilst ensuring employee safety.
Mandatory Responsibilities
1. Adherence to all organisational policies, management systems and standard operational procedures, including legal responsibilities in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality.
2. Work positively to develop and foster good working relationships with colleagues and contracted personnel in order to maintain a culture of mutual respect and dignity.
3. Represent the organisation in a positive way as to avoid damage of corporate image or bringing the company into disrepute.
4. Promote and Display the Epwin Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
5. Ensure the HSWA is complied with, at all times and ensure that all accidents and near misses are fully investigated.
6. Ensure that Company HR procedures are followed with the scope of responsibility.
7. Provide basic ‘U’ value calculation service
8. Support and assist Field Technical Services
9. Provision of technical support for the determination of industry and legislative data for both internal & external customers.
10. Ensure that CAD systems and data storage are maintained and secure, for the protection of company data and IP.
11. Facilitate in the manufacture and testing of new and existing products
12. Provision of drawing & technical administration support to business operations.
13. Communicate effectively within the organization and build strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
14. Champion continuous improvement for all aspects of the product development environment, processes and equipment.

26. High level of numeracy and literacy.
27. Basic Knowledge of CAD software.
28. Good ability with Microsoft software.
29. Formal Engineering Qualification or Suitable Experience.
