Overview
Under guidance of the orthopaedic outpatient therapy team, you will complete initial therapy assessments, provide interventions and facilitate discharge planning for a designated caseload, support administrative duties, and participate in group exercise and rehabilitation treatment programmes. The post holder will work with a range of experienced staff as part of a wider, multi-disciplinary team on the ward. Experience as a therapy assistant or in a hospital/caring rehabilitation environment is essential. The physiotherapy department offers a structured in-service training programme, underpinned by regular clinical supervision, mentoring, and peer group support. Responsibilities
* Complete initial therapy assessments for a designated caseload
* Provide interventions and facilitate discharge planning
* Support the team with administrative duties
* Deliver group exercise and rehabilitation treatment programmes
* Organise and prioritise tasks independently
* Maintain judgement under pressure
* Communicate effectively and build interpersonal relationships
* Be flexible and able to work weekend shifts as required
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience as a therapy assistant or in a hospital/caring rehabilitation environment
* Passionate and enthusiastic with the ability to contribute experience to the orthopaedic inpatient team
* Willingness to train as a Physiotherapist in the future is advantageous
* Desirable: understanding of the private sector
