The Role
As a Product Verification and Test Engineer, you will be a member of the engineering team focusing on test verification of current and next‑generation positioning test solutions. This electronics & systems test‑focused role requires hands‑on manual testing experience and the ability to generate test automation scripts.
The Candidate
You should have a hardware/systems testing bias and hands‑on experience with RF test equipment such as power meters, frequency counters, and oscilloscopes. The position is lab‑based and requires a presence on site in Paignton, Devon, with no less than four days a week on‑site. A 2+ year industry experience with post‑qualification is preferred, but we value the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
* Setup and perform complex test procedures in current and next‑generation positioning solutions.
* Generate and update technical documentation.
* Generate test automation scripts.
* Support the automation team to analyse and recommend automation tests.
* Troubleshoot technical issues and identify solutions to complex problems.
* Adhere to QEHS policies and procedures (Quality, Environment, H&S, and IT Security).
Job Requirements
* BA, BEng, or HND in an appropriate engineering discipline.
* Experience in a product verification and test environment.
* Programming/design/scripting experience in LabVIEW and/or Python with Unix and Windows operating systems.
* Experience using RF lab test equipment (spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters, etc.).
* Knowledge of phase modulation (BPSK, QPSK, etc.), spread spectrum, signal detection, interference analysis, baseband filtering, and data formatting.
* Experience in automation using engineering test equipment.
* Skilled proficiency with MS Office applications.
Desired
* Knowledge of digital communications, RF system analysis, FEC coding, and communications engineering.
* Demonstrable technical understanding of GNSS and related technology.
* Git/GitHub experience.
* Pytest experience.
* Matlab experience.
