Job Title: Integrated Transport Unit Group Manager
Grade: 12 | Location: County Hall & Service Depots
Pembrokeshire County Council is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to manage and strategically oversee our Integrated Transport Unit. This critical role encompasses public, community, and school transport, as well as fleet management, ensuring services are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the Council's corporate priorities, including the Net Zero Action Plan and Fleet Transition initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
You will lead a team of approximately 100 staff, managing operational, strategic, and financial performance across transport services. The role includes: developing and implementing policies and service plans, ensuring compliance with transport and fleet legislation, driving continuous improvement, and providing expert advice to senior leaders, Members, and external stakeholders. You will also manage complex change initiatives, oversee budgets, and contribute to regional and national transport strategies.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a highly experienced professional with substantial leadership experience in transport and logistics management. You will have a strong track record in delivering innovative solutions, managing diverse teams, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and health & safety standards. A degree in Transport, Logistics, Business Management, or a related field is essential, with professional qualifications such as CMILT or ATCO membership desirable.
This is a senior strategic role offering the opportunity to shape transport services across the County, delivering excellence and efficiency for the communities we serve.
