Overview
An opportunity has arisen to work within the Oral Health Improvement Team as an Oral Health Support Worker to support the delivery of the National Childsmile Oral Health Improvement Programme across the Scottish Borders.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of Childsmile programmes e.g. Toothbrushing and Fluoride Varnish within nurseries and schools.
* After training provide support to vulnerable families in their own homes.
* Provide support to a wider range of establishments including primary care dental service settings.
* Have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary/agency team.
* Display effective communication, organisational skills and be able to prioritise workload.
Requirements and Qualifications
* A full UK driver’s licence is required for this role.
* The candidate must commit to undertaking the National Education for Scotland (NES) Childsmile course SCQF level 7 training within the first year of employment.
* The Post Holder will facilitate access to oral health promotion, dental preventive and treatment services through all Oral Health Improvement Programmes with a focus on Childsmile.
