Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced HSE Manager to lead the Health, Safey and Environmental, agenda across two key long-term renewable energy projects based in Teesside. This role plays a vital part in supporting the safety first culture on-site and ensuring compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and client standards. You will be the HSE lead across both projects, providing strategic and hands-on guidance, and will work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
The role offers potential to build and develop a team of HSE Advisors as project demand grows, making this an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking HSE professional seeking to shape and grow a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead HSE strategy, planning, and implementation across two large-scale, long-term projects in Teesside.
* Provide day-to-day support and guidance to site teams on all matters related to health, safety and environmental.
* Ensure compliance with internal policies, UK legislation, and client HSE requirements.
* Carry out site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
* Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to embed a proactive safety first culture.
* Develop, deliver, and monitor HSE training, toolbox talks, and inductions as required.
* Prepare regular reports and data analysis on HSE performance and trends for internal and external stakeholders.
* Support environmental monitoring, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with ISO standards.
* Play an active role in identifying future resource needs and growing an internal HSE team as required by project scale and complexity.
* Contribute to the wider Boston Energy HSE strategy and support other projects when needed.
Key Requirements:
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent (minimum NEBOSH General Certificate with relevant experience).
* Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or higher preferred).
* Proven HSE experience within energy, construction, or engineering environments.
* Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work independently.
* Experience conducting site audits, incident investigations, and risk management.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Flexible and willing to travel occasionally to other UK sites.
* Experience leading or mentoring HSE professionals is advantageous.
