Job Description
As a Battery Service Engineer you will carry out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost‑effective manner, maintaining documentation of all work in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures. The role involves working to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, ensuring van stock is monitored and sufficient for day‑to‑day maintenance of the fleet.
* Carry out repair, inspection and quotation of customer battery equipment and accessories.
* Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and purchase requisitions within required timescales.
* Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (van, laptop, tablet, etc.) and ensure it is in a safe condition for the work undertaken.
* Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
* Diagnose faults to a component level.
To be considered you should have knowledge of at least two of the following areas and be willing to receive additional training:
* Mechanical engineering
* Electrical engineering
* Hydraulics
* Battery, Charger & Battery Change systems
The role covers the South of England; applicants from anywhere located in the South are welcome.
Person Specification
Essential Skills
* Must hold full UK Driving Licence.
* Knowledge of Battery, Charger & Change systems.
* Proficient fault finding and repair.
* Education allowing a grade C in English and maths at GCSE.
* Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
* Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
* Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution driven.
* High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to multi‑task, prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines.
* Ability to work independently or in a team.
* Clear oral and written communication skills.

Vacancy Details
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 08:00 am to 04:30 pm with 30 minutes unpaid lunch. Company Vehicle: A company van and fuel card are provided with the option for private use (subject to tax regulations).
