The Compliance and Audit Analyst will play a critical role within the Audit and Compliance Team, supporting the delivery of compliance monitoring, internal audits, data protection activities, and governance framework enhancements. Working directly with the Head of Internal Audit and Compliance, you will use modern, data-driven techniques to monitor organisational compliance, analyse operational processes, identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvement across compliance and data protection domains. This role will contribute to the delivery of audits, maintain key compliance registers, and help develop and report real-time insights through compliance dashboards.

The Role:
Compliance monitoring and internal audits:
* Supporting the planning and delivery of the annual compliance monitoring and internal audit programme
* Conducting audits and reviews across regulatory and operational areas, documenting findings and preparing clear, actionable reports
* Analysing operational and compliance data to identify gaps, trends, and emerging risks
* Tracking and supporting the closure of audit findings, working collaboratively with business teams to strengthen internal controls
* Helping to develop real-time compliance assurance by contributing to framework development and control testing
Data protection compliance support:
* Assisting with ongoing GDPR monitoring, including updating Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and monitoring compliance with privacy policies
* Supporting the management of data protection activities, including Subject Access Requests (SARs) and incident reporting documentation
* Monitoring adherence to data protection policies through regular checks
* Tracking policy compliance across departments and assisting with embedding controls into business-as-usual processes
Policy and governance framework maintenance:
* Maintaining the organisation’s central policy register, support the review, update, and communication of compliance policies, ensuring regulatory and operational alignment
* Helping ensure policies remain current, consistent, and aligned to compliance frameworks
* Monitoring adherence to policies and frameworks, identifying opportunities for enhancement
Data-driven compliance insights:
* Leading on the collation and analysis of monitoring data to generate insights into compliance performance
* Developing and maintaining compliance dashboards and management reports, turning assurance outcomes into meaningful business insights for operational teams and senior management
* Identifying trends, gaps, and emerging risks to support proactive decision-making
* Supporting the production of monthly and quarterly compliance reports for senior management and external stakeholders
* Contributing to embedding a culture of compliance through data-led storytelling and performance tracking
Key Requirements:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
* Understanding of compliance frameworks, audit methodologies, and/or data protection principles (training provided if required)
* Experience working with compliance monitoring, internal auditing, or governance support (academic or professional experience)
* Awareness of GDPR requirements and practical data protection compliance
* Interest in developing expertise in data-driven compliance reporting (e.g., Power BI exposure a plus).
