Staff Today, a trusted recruitment agency based in Wolverhampton with over 25 years of experience, is working on behalf of a leading and expanding sheet metal and fabrication company in Telford. Our client is known for delivering high-quality metalwork solutions to a range of industries and is now seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join their team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Youll be responsible for inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes, while working closely with both customers and suppliers to maintain excellence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
* Use a range of measuring equipment including Vernier callipers, protractors, height gauges, and CMM/measuring arms.
* Read, interpret, and work from technical/engineering drawings.
* Produce and maintain PPAP documentation (control plans, PFMEAs, first article inspection reports, etc.).
* Conduct internal quality audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
* Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters.
* Analyse data and implement effective quality control and assurance processes.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
* Mechanical engineering or quality background (sheet metal experience preferred).
* Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and auditing procedures.
* IT and PC literate.
* Experienced with precision measuring equipment.
* Proven track record in PPAP generation and quality assurance.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Confident communicator with customer/supplier-facing experience.
* Full UK driving licence required.
