About The Role
As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service right to our customers' doors and install the products they love into their homes (such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets) as part of a two-person delivery crew. * Salary: Starting rates for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee will be £28,646 (Annual), Installer will be £32,149 (Annual) & Technician will be £34,353 (Annual).
* Eligibility: All applicants must be over 18.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Driver Trainee:
* Complete the 12-month Customer Delivery Driver Trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer.
* Provide excellent customer service and act as a brand ambassador.
* Assist in loading your vehicle and collaborate with the warehouse team.
* Handle customer interactions with respect and courtesy, resolving unexpected situations effectively.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation to customers.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Note: This role involves heavy lifting, including delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, and beds.
Essential Skills for Driver Trainee:
* UK B-Category manual driving license with no more than 6 points.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Interest in technology and installation.
Desirable Skills:
* Previous installation and customer delivery experience.
Driver Installer:
Responsibilities include starting at the delivery hub, then heading out on route to:
* Provide excellent customer service.
* Load your vehicle with deliveries.
* Respect customer homes and resolve issues.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use.
* Stay informed on new products and technologies.
* Maintain safety standards.
Note: Heavy lifting involved.
Skills for Driver Installer:
* Manual C1 UK driving license with up to 6 points.
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Technological proficiency.
Driver Technician:
Responsibilities include:
* Customer service excellence.
* Coaching and assessing colleagues.
* Loading and route planning.
* Product installation, including wall-mount TVs and integrated appliances.
* Staying updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintaining safety standards.
Note: Heavy lifting required.
