We need strong Windows Server administration expertise, including Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and Windows deployment methods. We require strong working knowledge of VMware environments, including ESXi installation, vCenter management, virtual networking, and storage provisioning. We need deep familiarity with enterprise hardware and networking products, including Cisco switching and routing, Riverbed optimization, HP/Dell server blades, APC UPS systems, and associated peripherals. We require experience working in multi-discipline, fast-paced environments managing complex, multi-thread infrastructure projects. We need the ability to work in challenging or hostile environments and support non-standard hours. We require experience in secure infrastructure delivery and implementation across in-factory and on-site environments. We need the ability to support formal customer handovers and transition infrastructure into live service. We require a willingness to travel within the UK and worldwide as needed. Responsibilities: We lead the end-to-end technical delivery of core infrastructure solutions onboard vessels. We deploy, configure, and optimize Windows Server and VMware ESXi/vCenter environments in vessel-based settings. We manage all technical aspects of hardware and software activities in maritime environments, both in-factory and on-site at naval dockyards. We deliver end-to-end solutions covering bare-metal software build environments, physical hardware installation onboard vessels, data migration, and initial support phases. We perform Windows and VMware deployment activities across multi-vessel environments, including Active Directory/GPO design, Windows Server node builds, VMware vSphere provisioning, assurance and commissioning, and connect-to-live or federation requirements. We carry out keep-alive requirements, including WSUS patching, VMware hotfix updates, and firmware upgrades prior to trials and final installation. We install physical hardware across multi-vessel environments, including rack mounts, server blade configurations, storage arrays, equipment removals, Factory Acceptance Testing, and Harbour Acceptance Testing. We participate in formal customer handovers and support the transition of infrastructure into live service. We join the Onboard Engineering Support team to provide ongoing support across multiple UK and worldwide locations. We identify personal and team training needs in line with technical upgrades for specialized defense network nodes.
