Position: Senior Controls / Automation Engineer
This role requires a versatile engineering skill set and the ability to work independently through all phases of process automation engineering and system integration, including concept development, specifications, design, documentation, project implementation, testing, startup, and training of personnel. You will be a key member of a diverse team tackling our clients' most complex automation challenges.
Locations:
Akron, OH; West Chester, OH; Longview, TX; South Carolina
Travel:
Several short trips (< 1 week) during the first year; fewer thereafter as the team develops.
Responsibilities:
* Lead or collaborate on projects designing, configuring, and testing material handling control applications.
* Understand project scope and financials; manage time effectively by developing schedules and budgets, coordinating with project leadership, and managing change orders to ensure client satisfaction.
* Provide solutions and technical expertise to project leadership and clients, prioritizing customer satisfaction.
* Adapt to flexible work schedules and travel as needed for system design, development, and startup at client sites.
* Serve as an automation Subject Matter Expert.
* Promote the success of E Tech Group, our clients, and career development of colleagues.
Qualifications:
* At least 4 years of hands-on experience in automation projects, preferably in Material Handling or Distribution Centers.
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
* Detail-oriented with strong technical skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
* Knowledge of industry standards, design criteria, and codes related to Instrumentation and Controls.
* Experience developing process control applications using PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems; database configuration; process historian setup; and control system troubleshooting.
* Understanding of object-oriented software development and delivery methodologies.
* Experience with virtual server-based control architectures and control network topologies.
* Knowledge of process instrumentation, control panel design, and commissioning.
* Proven ability to troubleshoot equipment and instruments during startup and commissioning.
* Experience supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites.
* Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Desired Application Knowledge:
* PLC Programming with Rockwell Studio5000, RSLogix5000
* Programming in RLL, SFC, and ST languages
* HMI Programming with Rockwell FTView, Inductive Automation Ignition, or others
* SQL database management
