We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Marsh Corporate within our Restructuring & Recovery team. This role can be based in our Birmingham or Reading office. It is a hybrid role that requires working at least three days a week in the office.
The role: Case Manager (Account Handler)
Specialising in insolvencies, a Case Manager will handle a wide range of risks of all sizes, with excellent opportunities to develop expertise across different areas and insurance lines. Insurance placements are not always annual, making the work fast‑paced and dynamic – no two days are alike.
The Case Manager plays a pivotal role in consulting with clients to understand their service requirements and insurance needs, providing expert advice on placement and risk management. The role is centred on building and maintaining strong, long‑term relationships with clients to ensure consistent delivery of exceptional service.
As the primary point of contact for allocated clients, the Case Manager manages their cases with a focus on service excellence, ensuring that all relevant insurance and risk management considerations are discussed to enable clients to make well‑informed decisions.
Case Managers deliver our Service Proposition for insurance placement options, including scheme placement, annual placement, and pre‑appointment insurance utilisation, ensuring all options are thoroughly reviewed for each placement. They also provide risk management advice by signposting clients to the Risk Management team for relevant services.
Operating a Delegated Authority Scheme, Case Managers foster strong relationships with both scheme insurers and market insurers to facilitate the best possible outcomes for clients.
We are happy to consider candidates with commercial insurance experience, whether as an existing Account Handler, Broker, or Underwriter looking to move into a Case Manager role.
We will rely on you to:
* Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships internally and externally to support collaborative working and client satisfaction.
* Apply comprehensive knowledge of core insurance principles to manage both straightforward and complex situations encountered daily.
* Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and service level agreements.
* Remain calm under pressure and work flexibly when required.
* Deliver exceptional client service across all aspects of account management, proactively identifying and addressing client needs in line with agreed service standards.
* Identify opportunities for process and service improvements, collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
* Exhibit excellent organisational skills, managing multiple enquiries and tasks simultaneously with efficiency and accuracy.
* Develop and maintain a strong internal network across the business, utilising available resources to support colleagues and contribute to the growth of the unit.
* Manage all day‑to‑day client queries, renewals, amendments, and mid‑term adjustments promptly and accurately.
* Collaborate closely with Client Service Directors to develop and execute strategies tailored to individual clients and client groups.
* Ensure timely acknowledgement and resolution of client queries, delivering outstanding service while proactively identifying and escalating potential vulnerabilities.
* Demonstrate a client‑centric approach, prioritising what is right for the client in all decision‑making and interactions.
* Complete all relevant and regulatory mandatory training to expand knowledge in the role and own your personal development plan.
* Actively identify opportunities for expanded client services.
* Actively engage with clients to strengthen relationships through virtual and/or face‑to‑face meetings.
