Overview
Join to apply for the Drainage Engineer role at Lanes Group. We are recruiting for a number of Drainage Engineers to work in 2-person teams, covering the whole of Kent on the Southern Water contract. This is a permanent, full-time role based at Tonbridge Depot (Kent). The position involves working 4 days on, 4 days off, with a 40.25 hour average per week. Salary is £27,300 per annum. Benefits include 21 days holiday (including bank holidays), health cash plan, onsite parking, auto enrolment pension scheme, and a friendly working environment.
We operate 24/7 and require flexible hours, weekends, and on-call rota participation. Full training, PPE and company equipment will be provided to ensure you have the right tools, competency and confidence to work to Lanes’ high standards.
About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for customer-focused people to join our Utility Division, working on the Southern Water contract to deliver practical solutions to waste-water network and drainage problems.
Responsibilities
* Travel to residential sites in a two-person team, around the region, using a high-pressure water jet for restoration.
* Clean, clear and maintain drainage systems.
* Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
* Run diagnostics and repairs on drains.
* Deliver good customer service.
* Maintain good health and safety practices during works.
* Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.
* Comply with health and safety responsibilities (PPE, safe site setups) protecting employees, the public and other road users.
* Utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.
* Liaise with the client regarding progress and updates.
* Work unsupervised in all weather conditions with appropriate PPE and lone worker systems.
* Dynamically assess site access and working conditions on arrival.
* Provide support to colleagues.
* Inspect tools, equipment and plant before and after use; report defects or malfunctions.
* Conduct risk assessments and maintain a mature approach to risk perception.
* Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and responsibilities toward them.
* Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.
About You
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, respectful, and compliant with health and safety standards. Experience with High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential.
