We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and skilled Psychologist with a passion for working with Young Adults to join North London NHS Foundation Trust’s Young People Service as a clinician within the Transitions and Personality Disorder provision (Islington).
The Trust's Young People & Transitions Service works with young adults (18-25), providing consultation, liaison, assessment, and treatment around young adults’ mental health.
The Personality Disorder Service is a multidisciplinary team comprising a specialist Community Team, Therapies Team, and Liaison Team. It provides secondary care interventions to individuals with difficulties characterized under the umbrella of a 'personality disorder' diagnosis. As a specialist service, the team supports ICNs and the Crisis Care pathway within the Trust, aiming to help staff work more effectively with adults with complex mental health problems, including personality disorder. This post offers an opportunity to work as part of a supportive, reflective, and motivated team committed to compassionate work with young adults with severe personality disorder diagnoses.
Job Summary
The post-holder will champion the needs of young people (18-25) within the Personality Disorder Service. Responsibilities include influencing the service's culture and practice, providing assessment and treatment interventions, facilitating the transition from CAMHS to adult services, and offering supervision, advice, and consultation on young people's psychological care to the PD community, specialist treatment teams, Core Teams, referrers, and other colleagues and carers.

Additional Information
Staff may be required to work at different locations across Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington as needed. The Trust reserves the right to assign staff to other locations temporarily or permanently.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reports and communicate assessment, formulation, and treatment plans sensitively.
* Liaise with other health and social care professionals involved in young people's care.
* Conduct psychological assessments using interviews, psychometric, and other appropriate methods.
* Perform joint assessments with Core Teams regarding personality-related difficulties.
* Develop a PICT (Psychologically Informed Consultation and Training) model for primary care management of young people with PD.
* Create flexible practices within the PD service to facilitate engagement of young adults.
* Work closely with CAMHS to ensure smooth transition from child to adult services.
