Lecturer - Computing
Location: Bedford College - Cauldwell Street
Salary: £31,930 - £36,878 per annum DOE
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent - Full Time

About the role: We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing department at The Bedford College Group.
Responsibilities:
 * Teaching & Learning Delivery – Prepare, deliver and assess engaging lessons across a range of courses, tailored to student needs and aligned with standards.
 * Student Support & Progression – Guide students to achieve their potential, monitor progress, manage behaviour, and ensure a high-quality learning experience.
 * Curriculum & Quality Assurance – Develop schemes of work and learning materials, contribute to course reviews, and implement quality processes including feedback and moderation.
 * Administration & Collaboration – Complete course‑related admin tasks accurately and on time; participate in team meetings and support promotional activities.
 * Statutory Responsibilities – Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with TBCG policies and procedures.
About you:
 * Qualifications & Subject Expertise – Degree in Computing or related field (or equivalent experience), GCSEs in English and Maths, and willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
 * Teaching & Learning Experience – Ability to teach Computing subjects, recent teaching experience in UK education, and commitment to delivering high‑quality learning experiences for diverse student groups.
 * Communication & Professional Conduct – Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to build supportive environments, uphold professional standards, and promote the college's reputation.
 * Teamwork & Organisational Skills – Proven ability to collaborate, meet deadlines, contribute to team goals, and demonstrate excellent planning and administrative capabilities.
 * Safeguarding & Continuous Development – Commitment to safeguarding, maintaining professional boundaries, updating skills and knowledge, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
