Overview

The National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) funds Biomedical Research Centres (BRCs) experimental medicine centres of excellence via competitive application every five years. We're proud that the Manchester BRC has been awarded £64.1million over five years (2022-2028) to provide experimental medicine infrastructure funding across Greater Manchester Lancashire and South Cumbria. And with a diverse workforce reflective of the communities we serve, we're dedicated to providing support with education and training, key to the delivery of our aims.

We're looking for a proactive and motivated individual to join us as a Partnerships Manager for the NIHR Manchester BRC. With commercial or academic experience, you'll help drive the delivery of our Innovation and partnerships strategy. Working as part of the BRC Innovation and Partnerships Team, you'll be responsible for bringing together partners from across Greater Manchester’s R&I academic and clinical ecosystem, facilitating the development of collaborative projects with our external partners ensuring our research is fit for commercial uptake. What's more, you'll be passionate about innovation in research, with experience of developing and managing external partnerships across the industry and academic sectors.

Responsibilities

* You’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary core team, providing comprehensive, high quality business development and relationship management support for the BRC.
* With strong organisational and time management skills and a flexible approach to work, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management of BRC commercial interests, supporting commercial enquiries, developing strategic partnerships with industry, and helping our researchers and partners navigate the GM Research and Innovation ecosystem.
* As both an excellent communicator and confident networker, you’ll actively promote and market the aims, strategic vision, and research outputs of the BRC to drive new collaborations across the commercial sector.
* You'll use your experience to drive and deliver key aspects of our strategic programmes, including but not limited to the BRC innovation working group, Industry board and the Innovator training scheme.
* It goes without saying, you’ll be tenacious with a proactive approach, working with a wide range of stakeholders and sectors to understand and align their priorities for mutual benefit.
