A great opportunity for a Junior Merchandiser Branded to join a leading Multi-Channel retailer in the Greater Manchester area. They are looking to grow their Merchandising team as they are experiencing a period of expansion. As a Junior Merchandiser - Branded, you will report to the Senior Merchandiser for your category and review weekly trading performance and supplier management.
Job Description
1. Review previous seasons and produce SWOT analysis with supporting information.
2. Create category-level product mix based on history, SWOT, and SMT plan.
3. Formulate space and grading plans for store distribution in collaboration with the Senior Merchandiser.
4. Ensure the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and KPIs are approved by the Senior Merchandiser.
5. Ensure scheduling and ideals are in place for your area of responsibility.
6. Attend key selection meetings with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer.
7. Build the range plan and layout plans in conjunction with buying and VM teams.
8. Oversee ratios for all buys alongside the Assistant Merchandiser.
9. Ensure that the buy matches the plan.
10. Establish and maintain working relationships with suppliers.
11. Manage order books in-season and preseason to ensure system accuracy.
12. Manage stock seasonality within the WSSI.
13. Review weekly trading performance and KPIs, identify issues, and propose actions for recovery, preparing reports for weekly meetings.
14. Propose and implement actions to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer at category and line levels.
15. Capture all agreed actions in monthly forecast reviews.
16. Develop forecasts from category/season level to Buyer Group, incorporating sales variance and gaining approval.
17. Create OTBs and manage commitments, including on-time delivery, rebuys, cancellations, and markdown proposals.
18. Provide retail teams with rack lists/hit lists through Merchandise Assistants.
19. Manage the range plan during the season, reflecting any changes.
20. Manage line cards and intake at category and line levels.
21. Visit stores regularly to understand their performance.
22. Create action plans to optimize store performance.
23. Manage store option plans to ensure optimal stock levels and key lines coverage.
24. Collaborate with the Senior Merchandiser and Buyer to deliver the plan and guide the merchandising team.
25. Assist in providing and monitoring development plans for the Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandise Assistant.
26. Communicate any factors that could impact store performance to the Retail Team.
27. Establish working relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, Finance, DC, etc.

* Experience as a Senior Assistant Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser, or similar role in retail head office is essential.
* Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong commercial and brand awareness with an interest in product.
* Excellent communication skills and professionalism.
* Confident, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
* Highly organized, methodical, and efficient.
* Strong Excel skills.
