Are you looking for a rewarding career opportunity working for an excellent service provider, supporting essential NHS services?

Synchronicity Care Limited (SCL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and offers its own Terms and Conditions.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Estates Manager to join the team and play a pivotal role in supporting the Director of Estates and driving the future success of the Trust's Estates objectives in a safe, cost-effective, and compliant manner.

The post holder will have operational management experience, preferably in Healthcare, and will oversee the effective management of complex technical systems across the Trust, ensuring compliance with standards, procedures, and legislation.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Estates Manager will report directly to the SCL Director of Estates and will:

* Have lead operational responsibility for building, engineering, and maintenance services.
* Provide effective management and leadership for staff in delivering operational Estates maintenance, Capital and Additional Works, and Estates Backlog.
* Lead planning, programming, and monitoring of Estates Backlog, and prepare reports on delivery against programme and budget.
* Conduct contractual performance reviews, audits, and report on service delivery effectiveness.
* Support management of Clinical Engineering services, ensuring proper procurement, maintenance, and replacement of medical devices and equipment.
* Oversee capital construction and major refurbishment projects.
* Support property team in space utilization projects and maintenance contracts.


About us

CDD Services / SCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, set up to deliver non-clinical services. It is a separate legal entity from CDDFT.

CDD Services offers its own Terms and Conditions, including benefits such as:

* Access to a pension scheme - National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) with a 3% contribution from CDD Services.

Bank work is offered on an 'as and when' basis, paid on a pro-rata hourly rate.


Job responsibilities

Main duties include:

* Leading staff in programming and delivering a cost-effective operational Estates service.
* Formulating strategic plans for building and engineering services.
* Monitoring performance of service providers and ensuring continuous improvement.
* Managing Clinical Engineering services and medical devices.
* Providing project management support for capital schemes.
* Supporting procurement, management, and delivery of schemes.
* Providing technical advice and coordinating audits.
* Communicating professionally with stakeholders and managing Estates defects and safeguards.
* Implementing strategies for regulatory compliance and safety policies.
* Acting as SCL's Designated Person for technical services and managing resources within financial instructions.
* Developing estates strategies, monitoring backlog, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
* Leading sustainability initiatives and ensuring policies are up-to-date.

Person Specification


Experience

* Extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors.
* Senior management experience in NHS Estates or relevant sectors.
* Experience with technical risk assessments, capital projects, and budget management.
* Strong report writing, presentation, and Microsoft Office skills.


Skills & Knowledge

* In-depth technical and managerial knowledge, statutory compliance expertise, and project delivery skills.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
* Budget management and product/service design skills.


Requirements

* Eligible to work in the UK.


Qualifications

* Degree in engineering/construction or equivalent, with postgraduate and professional memberships.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development, full driving license, and Chartered Engineer status.

Salary: £60,084 - £71,794 depending on experience.
