We are proud to invite applications for a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Barking. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our school is built on strong values of inclusion, respect, and collaboration. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access learning. This may include one-to-one or small group support for pupils with autism spectrum condition, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social and emotional challenges.
You will support pupils both in the classroom and during structured intervention sessions, adapting learning activities and using strategies that meet individual needs. Supporting emotional regulation, positive behaviour, and independence will be central to your role, helping pupils feel confident and included within the school community.
You will work in partnership with class teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals to deliver consistent and effective support. Observations, record keeping, and feedback will inform planning and ensure pupils’ progress and wellbeing are monitored closely.
Strong relationships with pupils and families are highly valued, and you will be supported to communicate openly and positively. The school offers a collaborative culture where staff are valued and encouraged to develop their skills through training and SEN-focused professional development.
