1 x Full Time Substantive (Cross-site AGH/BRI)
1 x Part Time 18.75hrs Fixed Term contract for 2 years (AGH site)
Applications are invited for full time HCPC Biomedical Scientists in Haematology and Blood Transfusion. One of the positions is a FTC for 2 years.
Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well-motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working is essential. All these skills and attributes are in line with the Trust’s Right Care Behaviours. The substantive post is cross-site and the successful applicant would be expected to work across both Airedale and Bradford sites. Experience of working in an NHS Haematology/Transfusion laboratory will be an advantage at shortlisting.
Main duties of the job
The departments are well equipped, including Sysmex XN 9000 tracked system at AGH, Sysmex XN 3000 at BRI, ACL TOP 550’s, Genexpert DX system, (AGH) Alifax Test1 analysers and Sebia Capillarys3 analyser. The Transfusion departments are fully automated with 2 OrthoVisions and electronic issue of blood products.
The department operates a 24/7 service utilising a continuous process pattern (CPP) shift system, which the successful candidate should be willing to participate according to the needs of the service.
